Our client is seeking two highly skilled
technical business analysts to join our transformative
data & analytics program. This critical role will support the agency’s mission of delivering data-driven solutions to enhance their scheme, which empowers Australians with a disability.
About the Role: As a technical business analyst, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team transforming the agency's data & analytics capability. You will collaborate with both business and technical users to develop high-quality business and technical requirements that align with the agency’s strategic goals. Your ability to effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions will be key to the success of the program.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a traceability framework to ensure all project deliverables are aligned with agreed business outcomes through clear and actionable business and technical requirements.
- Elicit and document both business and technical requirements that support the goals of the agency’s Data & Analytics transformation program.
- Analyse and document business processes and data flows to provide valuable insights into current and future state business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working groups to engage stakeholders and ensure their input is included in the development of business and technical requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on business and technical design documents to ensure alignment with expected outcomes.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
About the Team: The
Analytics, Data & Actuarial Division (ADA), led by the Scheme Actuary, plays a crucial role in providing information and advice on financial sustainability and risk management of the Scheme. The
Data and Insurance Branch focuses on delivering high-quality data and reporting while building data literacy across the agency. The team also designs and builds business intelligence (BI) interventions and analytic solutions to drive performance improvements.
Essential Criteria: - Proven experience leading the development of business and technical requirements and stakeholder validation in large-scale data and analytics transformation programs.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and/or analytics applications, including data architecture (e.g., data models, ETL, data governance, security).
- Expertise in documenting data and process flows to provide context and clarity to business and technical requirements.
- Strong ability to gather, analyse, and translate business data into actionable insights.
- High proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Practical experience with Agile Delivery frameworks, including developing initiatives, epics, user stories, and other related documentation.
Desirable Criteria: - Experience working with diverse projects, in-house development, and vendor teams to deploy integrated technologies and drive business change.
- Experience as a Scrum Master.
- Familiarity with the SAS Viya 4 platform.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
